Hyundai The history of
Hyundai Motor Company was later established in 1967. In 1975, the Pony, the first Korean car was released with powertrain technology provided by Japan's Mitsubishi Motors. In 1986, Hyundai began to sell cars in the United States, and the Excel was nominated as "Best Product"" by Fortune magazine, largely because of its affordability. The company began to produce models with its own technology in 1988, beginning with the midsize Sonata. In 1991, the company succeeded in developing its first proprietary gasoline engine, the four-cylinder Alpha, and also its own transmission, thus paving the way for technological independence. In 1991 the first engine created in Korea (Developed Alpha Engine). The next year introduced the Korea’s first concept car (Unveiling of HCD-I). In 1994 developed the Solar-powered and fuel cell electric vehicles. In 1995 launched the Avante and also the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center opened. In 2012 Grandeur (Azera), Avante (Elantra), Santa Fe awarded ‘the ALGR esidual Value Award’and Grandeur (Azera), Santa Fe, Veloster win a Good Design Award. Hyundai departed the World’s 1st mass production of Tucson (ix35) Fuel Cell. World’s 1st mass production of ix35 (Tucson) fuel cell electric vehicles. Santa Fe selected as the 2013 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year. All-new Genesis wins the 2014 iF Design Award. In 2015 exhibited Unveiling of Sonata Plug-in Hybrid.
